TGIF!

Today is Friday and camp is in full swing. A final cast list for “The Little Mermaid” was posted and guess what? Everybody made the show! There’s even a huge stage crew!  Also today, we had an Intercamp lacrosse tournament and  slack-lining at Outdoor Recreation.  Lots of volleyball today for the high senior girls and high senior boys! Riding classes practiced jumping and also got in a few trail rides.  And it was a beautiful day for waterskiing on Lake Wallenpaupack!

Not only was lunch our favorite chicken patty sandwiches, but Chef Nick served a variety of delicious gourmet pizzas from our wood burning pizza oven. Tonight after services, we’re looking forward to a dance performance that campers spent all week perfecting with Kelly Moshen, followed by dueling campfires; the first Big Brother-Little Brother campfire and an all-girls campfire.

So much to do, so much fun at camp. In the words of Sebastian from the Little Mermaid, “You’ve got your own style, now let it shine…”!

Another active day at Pine Forest Camp! It started with the debut of a breakfast quiche that turned out to be a big hit! We had guest baseball coaches and players here running a clinic, while Kelli Moshen led the last day of rehearsals for tomorrow’s dance performance to “Uptown Funk.” We also offered a high energy ultimate Frisbee clinic and demonstration led by several Philadelphia Spinners players! Meanwhile, on the waterfront, many of our campers participated in a four-camp swim meet and back at Lake Greeley, our junior boys were the first to test out our brand new, two person water bikes! They passed with flying colors. We sent yet another rock climbing trip out and our junior girls spent time dominating the newcomb court. Our 11^th graders are having an amazing time in Costa Rica and post pictures whenever they have the opportunity!

We’re looking forward to a sunny, activity-filled weekend in Greeley!

We woke up a little groggy after last night’s incredible fireworks display. Even old-timers said that this show was the best ever. Every time we thought it was the finale, another burst of color and sound exploded in the sky. Before the Mitchell Field extravaganza it was an amazing all-camp talent show; tap dancers, lip-syncers, rock bands, a capella, folk singers, jugglers…PFC’s Got Talent! Lots of it! The audience sang along, cheered their bunkmates on, and ended with a standing ovation for all.

It was a glorious sunny mountain day today at PFC! TOP basketball started their drills, campers practiced for climbing competition, Intermediate boys caught fish at the lake and Inter girls played a rousing game of kick ball.

And to top it all off, the USA Women’s’ team won the World Cup. Now that’s a great day!

It’s July 4^th and camp woke up to excitement today. Our Lodge girls dressed in red, white and blue, decorated golf carts, and paraded around camp with whistles and bullhorns. Happy Birthday, America! Breakfast was, of course, all red, white and blue, too. Waffles with blueberries, strawberries and whipped cream! And to top it off fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts! A little rain in the morning didn’t stop the fun, there were high-energy activities all morning and then an all -camp down-home carnival. Games, prizes, fun! The sky has cleared and we’re getting ready for  a fantastic talent show at Netsy Playhouse followed by a super spectacular fireworks display on Mitchell Field.

Independence Day for America is what we celebrate today!! Independence with a small “I” is what we celebrate at camp every day.
