Gymnastics

A springboard floor for routines, bars, beam, vault, a tumble track and more, you have to see it to believe it. Nestled in the woods, our gymnastics center is one of the newest and most impressive facilities at camp. Our gymnastics staff have all competed or taught at a high level and individual coaching is offered for those interested in keeping up with lessons from home or furthering their skills at camp with one-on-one attention. We hold competitive gymnastics meets for interested boys and girls, and anyone who wishes to participate makes the PFC team!

Fitness

In today’s world, every camper, especially our Seniors and Hi-Seniors want to get healthy and stay healthy. With certified youth personal trainers and a certified strength and conditioning coach on staff, we encourage interested campers to use our state-of-the-art fitness center to meet individual fitness goals. Interested in one-on-one training? There’s an intensive fitness track for those campers interested in developing a personalized workout routine while at camp.

Tennis

Pine Forest is famous for its tennis program. The original camp to host a sanctioned United States Tennis Association (USTA) tournament, the PFC USTA tournament remains a highlight of each summer, even 30 years later. Campers travel far and wide to participate! Like swimming, we believe tennis to be a lifelong leisure skill that every child should learn at camp. In that spirit, every camper receives at least 2 tennis lessons a week, more if a camper shows interest. Campers who want extra attention can sign up for our Superstar Tennis program which includes daily group drills and private tennis lessons. As Uncle Marv, our 91-year-old director emeritus will tell you, the secret to a long life is to “keep playing tennis!”

Soccer

Soccer is a big deal at PFC. We’ve got soccer leagues, games against other camps and an intensive soccer daily clinic. Outside soccer coaches and specialists are brought in for breath and depth of instruction. One–on–one instruction, drills, skill development and strategy sessions are held with college-level soccer players and professional coaches. Many PFC campers play not only in travelling teams at home but also at the high school level. As with all team sports at PFC, your camper will come home with improved skills and, most importantly, a love of the game.

Basketball

Our founder, Hughie Black, was a professional basketball player, and basketball remains at the center of our athletics program. Pine Forest boasts multiple intramural leagues and travelling teams that play other camps and participate in tournaments on a regular basis. There are 6 basketball courts, some for clinics and games – others just for good old-fashioned pickup games and free play. PFC even hosts an intensive 4-day program for hoops fanatics and those playing on varsity or traveling home teams. When it comes to basketball, PFC is the best, and we’re proud to offer something for everyone!
