Activity Category: Aquatics
Canoeing & Kayaking
Slide across the calm waters of 1-mile long Lake Greeley or tackle the white water of Skinner’s Falls on the Delaware River; every camper will experience the thrill of canoeing and kayaking. It’s a traditional camp classic! Campers learn the J stroke and how to overturn and use a canoe for safety. And every day campers canoe or kayak out to Blueberry Island. What’s Blueberry Island? It’s as magical as it sounds. Come on up and we’ll show you!
Lakefront
Lake Greeley is the perfect spot to learn to sail, kayak, canoe, paddle board or just cruise around in a paddle boat with friends counting lily pads or planning a route to the legendary Blueberry Island! Campers young and old also love our Wibit aquatic challenge courses! Back on shore, build a sand castle masterpiece or serve up some beach volleyball. On a beautiful summer day, there’s no better place to be than Lake Greeley!
Sailing
Easy to handle small craft boats make up our fleet of sailboats with instruction for everyone, beginners to advanced sailors. There’s also a competitive boating regatta each summer for anyone interested!
Instructional Swim
It’s a lifetime skill and a requirement at Pine Forest. Every camper must be competent in swimming and is scheduled for swimming lessons every day through 7th grade. Pine Forest proudly uses the Red Cross system with certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI) in charge. Scuba diving lessons are also available to our oldest campers. There are two heated pools, one for girls and one for boys. Regular swim meets are held both within camp and with other camps.
