There’s just nothing like learning how to cook over an open fire. Make the perfect s’more, perfect your banana boat, or try out a scrumptious corn rocket! Outdoor cooking is fun, it’s delicious, and it makes camp smell particularly good.

Every camper in lower camp, grades 2-6, will have an overnight experience each summer. It starts with a short hike on our own property to a yurt (look up “yurt”- it’s awesome) nestled in the woods. There, campers cook out and tell camp stories (like the one about the Hooplah!) over a roaring, intimate bunk campfire. Usually singing becomes so loud around the campfire, that our overnighters can be heard back on the main campus! After a night under the trees and an early-morning wakeup, campers head to a special outdoor breakfast grill with eggs to order. It doesn’t get much better than that!

It doesn’t get much more exciting than this, a 45-foot-tall multi–surfaced climbing tower, a caving tunnel, a huge “giants ladder” swing. Nets, ropes, belays…you won’t want to come down! There’s even a sky-high platform at tree-top height for bunk picnics and overnight stays (to simulate what it would be like to bivouac on a mountain cliff). For our less experienced campers, the low ropes course teaches balance, teamwork and confidence building. There’s also a low bouldering center with plenty of challenges, popular even with our youngest adventurers.

Helmets on, confidence high, it’s off to conquer miles of off-road trails that weave through our pine forests, across rolling hills and through muddy swamps. Mountain bikes in all sizes with biking leaders who put safety first and fun second.

The iconic Appalachian Trail, the magnificent Delaware Water Gap, the spectacular Bushkill Falls, Pine Forest is in the middle of some of the most beautiful pristine woodlands in North America. Hike on our own private trails amongst our 1,000 acres or venture out to see the world with our experienced tripping leaders.

We did it back in 1931 when camp was started, and it’s still a camp favorite today. Though it hasn’t changed much, archery is a camp classic. From beginners to advanced with certified instructors at our beautiful outdoor range, there’s something for everyone, even those who’d like to participate in archery tournaments against other camps!
